01. How will the nail technician treat my cuticles?
The cuticle, the thin piece of skin that overlaps the nail at its base, may causing splits or tears in the skin that can turn into hangnail. To prevent that from happening, we help you keep the cuticles soft and pushed back. During your manicure, the nail technician will soften the cuticle then gently push it back - trimming only if needed. Any hangnail will be trimmed to prevent further tearing.
02. How often should I have a manicure?
Manicures can be scheduled as often as you like or depending on how you use your hands in your daily life. Some people receive them as often as once per week.
03. Why is there a hand and arm massage during a manicure?
To make you feel good. The massage helps to relax the hand and arm muscles, softens and smoothes the skin, and increases blood circulation.
04. What is the purpose of a pedicure?
Pedicuring is the art of caring for the feet and toe nail. It increases the comfort level of your feet and enhances the way they look. Manny people find pedicure treatment to be exceptionally relaxing.
05. What if I am shy about having a pedicure?
You're not alone. It's not uncommon to feel shy about having your feet treated. Please remember that Nail Technicians are licensed professionals. They realize that you may feel uncomfortable and will make every effort to put you at ease. Just let our nail technician know.
06. Should I get a pedicure if I have ingrown toenail?
Ingrown toe nail are commonly associated with improper filing or ill-fitting shoes. Your Nail Technician can advise you about how to avoid it in the future. You should not get a pedicure if you are treating athlete's foot and foot fungus. Your feet should be completely clear of these problems before receiving a pedicure.
07. What is nail fungus?
Nail fungus is a contagious infection of the nail bed that can weaken your nail and make it look bad. When the nail is elevated of the nail bed, a space develops under the nail where water can accumulate becomes a perfect environment for fungus growth. Exposing hand and feet to water for an extended time will increase the risk of getting fungal infection. People with artificial nail are at higher risk if the artificial nail are not applied properly. Our nail technicians are throughly trained and checks to make sure your artificial nail are applied on properly. Consult with one of our nail technician to find out treatment methods. 08. How do I know if my nail is infected with fungus?
When infected with fungus, nail becomes thicker, yellowish-brown or darker color and has a specific odor when filed. The biggest problem with nail fungus is that it's extremely contagious and can easily spread to other nail or skin.
09. How can I prevent fungus on my nail?
Drying feet thoroughly after shower and bath and wearing shower shoes when in public showers are some of the ways to protect your nail from getting infected. 10. How do you clean and disinfect your tools and equipment?
Spa tools and equipment are cleaned and disinfected daily during and after work. Tools for nail are soaked in disinfecting alcohol and chemical after each use to ensure the removal of any germs and bacteria. Pedicure chairs are cleaned with detergent and odor eliminating sprays. Drains are also cleaned to ensure no bacteria build up. You may ask to check the pedicure chair before your pedicure. We will be glad to show it to you. We try hard to keep our nail spa clean and safe.
11. What's the advantage of waxing versus other methods like shaving and laser removal.
Shaving can lead to cuts, skin irritations, and ingrown hairs and makes hair thicker and darker. Razors may even trigger its further growth. Aftershave smoothness does not last long. Waxing offers the alternative. With consistent waxing, hair may take up to four weeks to grow back. Hair that grows back after waxing often feels finer and softer than before. Laser removal may be great if done perfectly, but there is always the chance that you don't get a perfect result. Laser removal is a costly process. Waxing is much cheaper alternative than laser removal.
12. What area of the body can be waxed?
Many areas of the body may be waxed: eyebrows, forehead, lip area, cheeks, chin, back, upper/lower leg, underarms, forearms, bikini line, and hair on the knuckles of fingers and toes.
13. What kind of wax will be used on my skin?
Liquid wax is used on your skin. We heat the wax until it look like warm honey and then apply to your skin to remove all unwanted hair.
14. Does waxing hurt?
Waxing removes unwanted hair from the root. Thus, it may sting a little. You may choose take ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory before your appointment to reduce the sting.
